AUXITO DIY LED Headlight Install & Review

Welcome back to the Gator Overland channel. Today we change it up a little bit and do a DIY LED headlight upgrade to my wife's 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The original halogen low beam lighting was dim at best, and needed attention. The install was super easy, and after doing the lighting analysis it proves as a total worthy upgrade. So, if you're in the dark with your current halogens, and you'r...

UMI Performance Front/Rear Coilover Conversion for 1968-1972 Chevelle/A-body
I’m wondering if I could use my portable Jackery instead of propane. Great informative video. I am seriously considering this unit.
Not sure what you mean by your comment? Jackery can power it via 12v, yes.. but you need propane to make the heat exchanger work.. propane is required regardless
Perfect timing. Thank god it's mostly a communication error and I could actually drive my jeep home from work. I keep clearing the codes and they all come back. Hopefully this fixes my issues.
More than likely, it won’t be an issue after install… I’m 2 months no issues now… as mentioned in the video a lot of times you can reset the code just by moving the wires.
Best video I've ever seen
Couldn’t possibly be the best, but I do appreciate the compliment. I try to convey the most information in the least amount of time. Hopefully you learned something and potentially save yourself some money.
I found this video very helpful. It answered the many questions I had with the Falcon shocks.
That’s what I do… Try to jam pack as much information in a video without wasting too much of your time… Glad you found it helpful… I have about 30,000 miles on them now and still very happy with the investment
Good video. I put a video on my YT channel about a few things you can quickly check if you have electrical issues. The Canbus (CAN-C) connector was one of them. For over a year, I've kept in my jeep and extra Canbus, fuses, and fuse array. I'm just glad people are starting to check other things and not just go straight to changing batteries. Good job!
Thanks bud! 🤘🏼🤝
i wish they would make a slightly smaller one with no built in battery or pump, would be great for putting into 4wd builds
I know this is old but it looks like all you needed to do was change the coil. HEI is and always has been very dependable. If your motor wont start when its hot the place you go to is the coil. That's some 101 stuff. You spent a lot $$$$ and work for nothing.
Agreed the upgrade was expensive and probably unnecessary, but the increased fuel economy was noticeable. I found the issue of the hot start being a bad pickup coil in the HEI distributor. A quick trip to the store for a swap and it had never ran so good after install.. win lose in a way, but overall happy with the results
How long of ACTUAL runtime/use have you put on/ran this unit ?. In minutes/ hours / days.
I’ve done about 40gallons of water so far with the one pound propane bottle .. still feels like in have another couple of uses before empty. 40gall/5gal bucket= 8 buckets Takes 7mins to drain the bucket. So 7min x 8 buckets is about 56 min of run time so far.. battery claims to be good for 90min and i haven’t needed to recharge it.. so sounded like things are on par.. with the amount of gas left I’m betting I could get another 20 min.. so assume 90min total run time per bottle and battery which is good.. we take 1-2min showers each so that’s a lot of use for us
@@GatorOverland 56 minutes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Flowing23 yep still doing great. Haven’t camped more to allow more time.. what answer are you looking for ?
Great video
Thanks! Great product!🤘🏼
I assume you want to get the tires up to running temp first, right? My tires are 35 psi when cold but reach 40 to 42 psi after driving a bit.
No, you want to do this as cold/ambient temp.. the tire pressure increases about 1psi per 10deg increase.
AMAZING!! I will do the same.
Let me know if you have any questions 🤝
What size dado saw blade 8” or 10”
I used the 8 inch dado kit from avanti.. all the information is in the video description
I had the issue where my power steering stopped working intermittently. I took it to the shop and was charged an arm and a leg for them to diagnose it. One of the ports in the connector they said was loose, they put the connector into a different port and did not change the part. Thank you for this video, knowing I will not get taken advantage of again because I’ll just order a part and do it myself. Just wondering, does the part come with a diagram labeling what connector should go in which port? I have a 2020 2-door JL Wrangler - Thank you again!!
It does not come with a diagram and technically does not matter what port you put them in as as long as the main power connector is in the proper location… This cannot be mistaken because it’s the only one sized for the particular port… The best way to do it is have the new unit in your hand like I shown in the video and replace one at a time putting into the corresponding port on the new one.. if you end up going with the 13 pin instead of the 20 pin, it’s just the same, you won’t need to worry about which plug goes in which port except for the main power and put plug and it is a specific shape slightly larger and will only fit in that port.
Thanks so much for being so helpful and for showing us do it yourselfers how we can fix stuff!
@ericweave69 that’s what I do.. happy to help Eric 🤝
Great work and I'm going to use this system for storing my kayak and other heavier items in my garage!
Awesome! That will be perfect.. I have a handful of viewers who have constructed based on my video for exactly the same… Feel free to reach out via email for photos and communication about the project. JKHARTEL3@gmail.com
Don't know if anybody is having the same issue as me but, after a a couple of minutes of use the unit throws an error code only able to be reset by turning the unit off and on again.
In about an hour total if and still in the same gas canister I haven’t experienced this. What is the error code?
I did…and CAMPLUX Sent me a new unit. My issue was turning the temperature knob up even slight -prompted an error code….then having to wait ten minutes for the unit to cool down…only to get another error code. The second unit seems to work fine….so far! 😊
Does yours ever sound like Chewbacca when you're letting off the pedal lol? Mine does and an ACT engineer said it's normal.
Wow, no it’s never made that noice, whether it be at idle or shifting at raised RPM.. very weird.. not sure I’ve ever heard that in any manual vehicle I’ve owned..
@@GatorOverland Yeah me either... Works great though.
@meatwad600 how often is the occurrence?
@@GatorOverland Not as often anymore. Only when going into first and usually when it's cold. Engine temp not air.
Did you have to extend bump stops?
Only a lift or increase entire size would require increasing the bump stop height … However, by increasing the shock length you might consider extended brake lines
I came across this video last month, and thought it was a great idea. I built this camp shower following your instructions and it works like a charm. I just returned from a 10-day camping trip, and this thing was a game changer! Great for showering, washing & rinsing the dishes, even hosing the dust and grime off the car. One change I made that I recommend - I substituted a rechargeable battery-powered air pump for the hand pump. It took me way too long to get the can up to an acceptable pressure with the hand pump. A $24 air pump solved the problem. A great video, thanks for the idea.
Wow, thanks for taking the time to follow up.. having that convenient rechargeable pump is an awesome idea especially for as little of a task that it needs to be besides pumping it… Shoot me a link to that pump if you have time.
Great video - I am looking to do a similar project. Just an FYI for the creator or anybody else looking to do this project. While I agree that flexzilla is a great hose for general purposes I would be cautious about using it for drinking water. There is a lot of contradictory information on the web about it saying that it is drinking water safe however it does not have the NSF/ANSI certified logo on the box. If you go to the NSF site, I personally haven’t found any flexzilla products (unless it’s named something else).
Well done!
Thanks!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Your setup looks so much better than traditional hitch bike rack.
I appreciate that Scott… A lot of consideration went into doing this combo route rather than committing to a full bike carrier. It won’t work for everyone, but for those that it can, it will be simple and effective🤘🏼
@@GatorOverland the best part is that without the bike, this setup is less noticeable and won't add too much weight to the vehicle.
@scottwong522 #1 answer, DING DING DING.. my shins are grateful 😂
Great solution !
I always appreciate your feedback bud… Thanks
Awesome vid as always. Congrats on the little one. We LOVE our shotgun pros.
Wow thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! And totally agree with the shotgun pro!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
That’s a creative way to take advantage of the xtrusions on the RTT! Great video as always!
Thanks for the feedback bud! It worked out better than I expected! Love it!
Nice! A simple solution for added fun!
I’m all about simple go anywhere solutions.. thanks for the insight on products to use. Works like a charm! 🤝
How long are the t-slot bolts that you used? And where did you buy the bolts and the knobs from?
You can use the bolts that came with your tent for the t slots.. I believe mine are M6 35 mm. And the knobs came with my tent, but they will be like this amzn.to/462nETh
@@GatorOverlandthank you. I appreciate your response. 🤙🏼
My JTR came with the LED light package. I never knew I wanted LED’s until I got LED’s.
You can’t go wrong with LED’s these days.. night and day difference !!
lol i cant believe you took an 8 month old on this trip
Been doing trips ever since.. she loves the car rides .. but for credit.. we flew to LAX and they flew back from Phoenix.. I drove the whole rest of the way home.
Great video and good advice thank you. I had a similar issue when my JT was new. Underwarranty, the dealer started throwing parts at it. The simple fix was to tighten all the connections on the fuse box under the hood.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.. i started at the simple fix you mentioned, and ended up at the star connector.. no issues since
Great info. I’ll be adding this part to my tool kit !
Definitely… Last thing you want is to be experiencing gremlins while you’re off grid… $50 piece of mind
Thanks for the details.
You bet! Let me know if you have any questions! 25k on them so far! Love them!
What size is the fenced in area?
Mine is 207 linear feet.. 56’-7” x 64’-8” (3718 sq.ft)
Impeccable timing. I just replaced my cabin air filter and wondered what those connectors were for? I'll be taking your advice and buying a spare to have handy. Also just completed your video top on fixing the leaking rear window. Works like a charm! I may try using 9mm tubing next time and see if I can push the tubing all the in the grove for a tighter fit. Thanks again, sir.
Bad ass! Great to hear!
Very good video. I'll know what to do when mine starts to go haywire. Question, I saw you put 37s KO2s. Did you regear yet, did you need to put wheel spacers for the stock wheels and finally are your KO2s load C or E? Thank you in advance.
Thanks, yes 37 KO2’s Load rance C on stock wheels without wheel spacers. I did regear to 5.13’s after 30k miles on 37’s with 4.10’s.. my only regret is that I didn’t regear sooner. I recommend Revolution gears and opt for the REM polish finish to mitigate the 500mile break in. It typically adds $100 per gear set, totally worth it.
Well done as usual. I may just throw one of these in my spare parts kit.
Thanks Pete! Definitely a good idea to keep a spare for your or a trail mate. Last thing you want is to be off grid and gremlins start deactivating primary components you rely on when you need them.
Looks pretty on the video, but I see her having to weed the rocks soon… ask me how I know…
It will happen.. it’s inevitable.. They have weed blocker tarp down and are ready to spray it as needed to mitigate.
We use this very same mattress in our soft-shell RTT and it very comfortable, even on long trips. Highly recommend it.
Awesome! Totally agree! Well done on Utah part 2 as well🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@GatorOverland Thank you! Part 3 is next.
Hey great video , what size ferrules do you think I would need for 1/4 flexzilla
Per their chart it’s 380-AF500X or similar
Do you know where the shed was from?
Outstanding video and well detailed step by step approach! We are planning an Alaska trip in a couple of years and a 100% delete will be great. Thanks for the work you put into this!!
What type of 4X4 posts are in the ground? Is that cedar? I’m getting ready to build one myself, but can’t decide if I should use pressure treated or something else. Those posts look much nicer than treated!
They are actually treated yellow pine, but they were stored for about a month before placing in the ground so they would dry out a bit… If you put them in the ground wet, they have a potential to twist when placed in vertical position and drying in sunlight.
@@GatorOverland thanks for this. I’ll see what I can find from here!
Let me know if you have any questions… Shoot an email to JKHARTEL3@gmail.com for construction information
Great simple easy fix. Thank you for taking the time to make the video!
Absolutely! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.. no more leaks! 4mos and holding
Wow. What a difference. I just bought a used 2016 jeep with 34s from a dealer. They had 44psi in the rear 39psi in the front. Dropped everything to 33psi. I didn’t finish because it got dark but I went for a ride… it’s like a completely different vehicle. Way way better ride.
That’s what it’s all about… Thanks for the follow up
and the red small wire form the MSD connects to existing 12v ignition on wire. Gotcha , Thank you so much
Bingo!
Great video. Msd box comes wit 12v wire and tach wire. So what happens to those original wires? Thank you
Just tape them up.
you have an aftermarket tach correct? I don't understand how the tach works if the wire coming out of the tach is not connected.
You connect tach wire to to the MSD tach signal (gray) wire instead of the traditional location on the hei distributor.. see 7:30 in the video
Did you use 1/2” plywood?
Yes… Anywhere between that and 3/4 would be ideal Materials (1) - 48”x48”x 12mm (1/2”) thick plywood (birch) (1) - 1”x1”x1/8” (48” long) aluminum angle (14) - 3/8” x 1 1/4” bolt (14) - 3/8” nuts (28) - 5/16” washer (2) - M12 x 1.75 40mm (1 1/2”) *optional to replace factory anchor bolt*
Out to get stuff. How did you determine the amount of road you needed which is easier to use than use cable. I have 10’ ceilings Do you like the worm gear winch?
It really depends on how far you are from the hoisting wall and how far you’re needing to hoist.. if you do MA2 you multiply your distance x2. Shoot me an email and we can discuss further. Jkhartel3@gmail.com
Update: I bought this CAMPLUX Nano 3 pro….it worked flawlessly out of the box! However, the manual instructions are a bit confusing in how it’s written. Two…there’s no specific replacement pump available in case it malfunctions! CAMPLUX told me one might be available in a few months. I always take back ups just in case -because if the pump goes bad-now you’re stuck with a chunk of metal and hoses. :) A submersible is personally preferred to reduce noise.
Thanks for the follow up and way to be prepared having redundancy, especially if you’re in conditions warrant the usage. You may check with bougeRV or kakadu, they are basically the same unit, and use the similar barrel, plug connector, and submersible pump
I just did the fix. The next 2 day the truck was out in steady rain for hours with no leak. So far so good. Thanks for the fix.
Awesome to hear the follow up! 4 months no leaks here 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I have a VW THING hard top that I’m going to try to build your lift.
